Jack and Carolyn Landgrebe Summer Undergraduate Research Scholarship

The Jack and Carolyn Landgrebe Summer Undergraduate Research Scholarship provides a $7,000 stipend and up to $2,000 for subsistence, research supplies, and travel for one student to present their research at a professional meeting or conference. The recipient would be expected to participate in 40 hours/week of research for the ten weeks of the REU Program (May 26-July 31, 2026), and to fully participate in all professional development activities associated with the program.

Application Criteria

Criteria for selection will include professional plans, outstanding records of academic achievements, and strong motivation for research and/or prior research accomplishments as evidenced in the resume and personal statement. The recipient must be a current freshman, sophomore, or junior Chemistry major, and cannot be a previous recipient of this scholarship.

Application materials include:

• Resume (or CV)
• Brief (1 page) personal statement that includes career plans.
• Letter of recommendation from your research mentor (submit directly to Lindsey Roe).
