Gray-Little Hall/Chemistry Storeroom

The Gray-Little Hall Chemistry Storeroom, also known as the ChemStore, is an internal supply resource located in B010 Gray-Little and managed by the Department of Chemistry. The ChemStore maintains a limited inventory of commonly used research supplies that are purchased in advance with Chemistry funding and made available for purchase by research labs and departments located in Gray-Little Hall.

This service is intended primarily to support Chemistry faculty, staff, students, and research labs. When inventory allows, the ChemStore may also be used by other departments in Gray-Little Hall.

The ChemStore is a courtesy service provided by the Department of Chemistry to help support research activity in the building. To keep this service operating smoothly, we ask that all users follow the ordering, pickup, reporting, and billing procedures outlined below.

Placing a ChemStore Order

The ChemStore carries a limited selection of commonly used research supplies intended to support short-notice lab needs. We do our best to keep frequently requested items available; however, inventory is limited, availability is not guaranteed, and prices change frequently. Final charges are based on current pricing at the time the order is fulfilled.

Dry Ice and Liquid Nitrogen

Dry ice and liquid nitrogen are available as self-service items and do not need to be ordered in advance. You may proceed to the designated supply area to obtain what is needed, but you are required to accurately record the amount taken so the appropriate lab or department can be billed.

Billing and Invoice Payment

ChemStore purchases are billed to the lab, department, or funding source listed on the order form after the order has been fulfilled. Because this is a courtesy service provided to support the Gray-Little Hall research community, timely payment is essential. Payments allow the ChemStore to replenish supplies, maintain inventory, and continue serving all participating labs and departments.

Unpaid invoices create a direct financial burden on the Department of Chemistry and may limit our ability to continue providing this service. Labs with delinquent balances may have ChemStore services limited until payment issues are resolved.

We appreciate your help in keeping this shared resource available to everyone. If you are unsure how to process or pay a ChemStore invoice, please contact the Chemistry Office Manager at LBias@ku.edu for assistance.
