Bob Carlson Undergraduate Travel Award
The Bob Carlson Undergraduate Travel Award is a $500 award that provides financial support for undergraduate chemistry majors who are traveling to present their research at a professional meeting or conference.
Application Criteria
Criteria for selection will include a strong academic record and participation in research, as evidenced in the resume. Recipients must be current chemistry majors in good academic standing and cannot be a previous recipient of this award.
Application materials include:
- Resume
- One-page statement that includes the purpose of travel and provides details on the meeting/conference, including conference name and dates.
- Arrange for a quarter page letter of support from your research mentor. This letter should express the mentor’s support for the plans to present research at a meeting/conference.
Application Deadline
Applications are accepted year-round; however, we ask that applications are submitted no later than 30 days prior to travel.
