Biography

Dr. Mefford received his Ph.D. at KU studying in the lab of Professor Ralph Adams.  Following postdoctoral studies at the Stanford University School of Medicine and a visiting scholar position at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, Dr. Mefford was appointed Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Boston College. In 1985 he was named Chief of Unit on Clinical Neurochemistry in the Clinical Pharmacology Section of Experimental Therapeutics at the National Institute of Mental Health in Bethesda, MD.  In 1995, he became a medical resident in Houston, TX and since 1998, Dr. Mefford has been a practicing physician in Richmond, TX.   He is Physician and Owner of Fort Bend Premier Care in Richmond, TX.  He holds adjunct faculty positions at Methodist Family Practice and Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
