Biography

Dr. Spry earned his B.S. degree in chemistry while carrying out research in the laboratories of Professor Cynthia Larive and Professor Ward Thompson.  After earning his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Stanford University, Dr. Spry joined ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company as a Process Engineer.  He has held a wide range of technical positions in the oil and gas and petrochemical industries, working at times for ExxonMobil and Shell Oil Company.  His experience includes process design, industrial R&D, operations support and project engineering.  He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.  Dr. Spry is currently employed by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory in Richland, Washington. His professional interests revolve around deploying new process technology in real commercial installations and translating conceptual ideas into practical, implementable process designs.
