Strengthening bonds through chemistry collaborations: A tribute to Craig Lunte

Monday, November 23, 2015

On Tuesday, November 17, 2015, a research symposium, memorial mass and dinner were held at Dublin City University (DCU) in Dublin, Ireland in remembrance of KU Chemistry Professor Craig Lunte.  The symposium entitled "Strengthening bonds through chemistry collaborations" was dedicated to the memory Prof. Lunte.  The symposium reflected on the importance of the joint collaborations of KU and DCU on the analytical research community for both universities.  Speakers included KU Chemistry faculty Prof. Sue Lunte, Prof. Bob Dunn and Prof. and Chair Brian Laird.  A memorial mass followed the symposium, included an address by DCU President, Prof. Brian MacCraith and eulogy delivered by Brian Laird.  A dinner was held in honor of Prof. Lunte that evening.

"Of all good times that e'er we shared
I leave to you fond memory;
And for all the friendships that e'er we had
I ask you to remember me;
And when you sit and stories tell,
I'll be with you and help recall;
So fill to me the parting glass,
God bless, and joy be with you all."
